STEP 1 IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT
Keep calm and take down particulars of involved parties including Name, NRIC/FIN number, Phone number, Address, Insurer and Vehicle number.
Take down any witness’s particulars and contact number.
Take necessary photographs of all involved 3rd party vehicles & the accident scene.
STEP 2 ACCIDENT REPORTING
You need to report all accidents to the insurer’ appointed workshops within 24 hours immediately after the accident or latest by the next working day.
This is required in all cases, whether or not your vehicle has suffered any visible damage and whether or not you intend to claim against your own policy or any other party.
*Do not admit liability, make an offer/settlement/promise with any third party(ies) on behalf of the insurer.
STEP 3 TO LODGE A POLICE REPORT?
You are required to lodge a police report if the accident involves:
A. Injury to any parties
B. Government vehicle or government property
C. Foreign vehicle
D. Pedestrian or cyclist
E. "Hit-and-run" case
F. Accident occurred out of Singapore (Police report must be done before leaving the foreign country)
